Born in Ireland and schooled there and in the USA, Donal Keohane has been a practicing artist all of his life, having his work displayed in galleries, museums, churches, offices, and private homes, The conviction that creation shows forth the glory of God leads him to base his subject matter on nature in all its diversity. He works in various media drawing, painting, sculpture, mosaic, and stained glass, His interests are not confined to the visual art alone; he is also a teacher in the fields of art history, drama, and religious studies, Recently he has concentrated on writing poetry. He holds bachelor’s degrees in education, philosophy, and psychology, as well as a master’s degree in fine arts. Theological and communication studies are also part of his schooling.
